KOHLER at CES

KOHLER, a manufacturer of kitchen and bath products, launched its KOHLER Konnect platform. The KOHLER Konnect platform allows consumers to personalize select KOHLER products using a smartphone app. Once configured KOHLER Konnect products are controllable via supported voice services, including Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and Apple HomeKit. KOHLER also introduced the Verdera Voice Lighted Mirror with Amazon Alexa voice services built-in. Linking the Verdera Voice Lighted Mirror with KOHLER Konnect enabled bathroom products such as the DTV+ showering system, PerfectFill, and the Numi intelligent toilet is a natural.

The Verdera Voice Lighted Mirror has an attractive contemporary design, but I feel an opportunity was missed by not including a display behind a semi-reflective portion of the mirror and providing Amazon Alexa video skills to display your morning flash briefing, music lyrics, etc. Video would have made the Verdera Voice Lighted Mirror centerpiece of the bathroom of the future. Still, the Verdera Voice Lighted Mirror would be an attractive addition to any smarthome.

KOHLER announced that the Verdera Voice Lighted Mirror would be available for purchase in March 2018. KOHLER Konnect products should be available later in the year.
